These are very nice lights. They are brighter than I anticipated. The installation instructions leave a lot to be desired, and there should be four screws to hold them to the 4x4. But I think they are beautiful and they were easy to install and I'm glad I bought four!

I want to use this as an indoor landing post cap, so it will light up the landing area. There are two doors with windows close by, within 3'. Would that provide enough light to recharge the batteries? If not, is there something else that might work?

The Wellington Solar Post Cap Light's LEDs are designed to emit ambient light outwards. They may shine enough to illuminate a short area downward, but they are not designed with downward facing LEDs. The Windsor for example, is designed in this fashion:

The Wellington Solar Post Cap Light Tiffany Style dimensions are 6.25" x 6.25" at its widest point. However, it looks like the 4" x 4" post is flush with the rail. You would need a raised post to secure the light to, or it would sit loose on top. Thank you for your inquiry!
